Building Upgrade on the Horizon?

You might be pleased to learn that there have been fairly recent reforms that may make finance and borrowing easier.

The reforms allow for changes to the financial rules on building upgrade finance and the ability to borrow funds against land. 

These were part of an extensive list of recent financial reforms to the Local Government Act 1995 in Western Australia, passed in November 2024, They include change to financial management, reporting, and governance.

The aim is improve transparency and accountability for ratepayers.
